Joi

Joi is a 5-second clip toy with a second currency.

Dream Clips and Neurons, on mobile web. This is not MiniMax’s Talkie app, not a Joi login, and not Blade Runner merch. Product: joi.com (adult “Spicy”) and joi.ai (the cleaner shopfront). One account, two doors.

Effective ~$5–$18/mo if you stay inside Premium · Score 7.4 / 10

Joi is Joi. Talkie is Talkie.

Two products share a “talk to a character” pitch and a syllable. They are not the same company. Joi is the adult companion at joi.com / joi.ai, help center at help.joi.com, operator paper commonly cited as JOI-AI LIMITED, UK Companies House 13414098, with engineering names (Lanoto, Naylalabs) attached in secondary reporting. Billing on cards is often the discreet descriptor “joi.com.” Talkie: Soulful AI is the MiniMax-linked SUBSUP PTE. LTD. app out of Singapore, the one the Wall Street Journal wrote about as a US entertainment download. Different store listings, different filters, different currencies. This stub is Joi. If you wanted Talkie, you are on the wrong URL and we will not pretend otherwise.

Joi’s own about copy leans on “AI-lationships” and a Blade Runner namesake. That is branding. The product is a character browser, switchable LLMs (Saturn 7.0 shows up as the flagship in 2026 write-ups), image generation, short video branded Dream Clips, and live voice that Neurons make expensive. SFW browsing lives on joi.ai. Adult “Joi Spicy” lives on joi.com. One account covers both. We review the adult product because that is what this hub is for. Characters are fictional adults. 18+.

We are not Joi. We do not host their login. Official support is their help center, not hello@testedcompanions.com.

Sticker vs the $5–$18 band

Premium is one feature set sold on three terms. Checkouts in 2026 write-ups cluster here. Promo codes (HELLO50 gets named often) rot; we do not treat a first-term coupon as the list price.

Term Billed (commonly seen) Monthly equivalent Notes
Free $0 $0 Sample messages, a handful of images, ~10 Neurons on signup; Discord sometimes adds more. NSFW and flagship models locked.
Premium monthly ~$16.79–$17.77 ~$17 Full models, NSFW on joi.com, 1 custom character, media allowances
Premium quarterly ~$26.66 / 3 months ~$8.89 Same feature set
Premium annual ~$60.95 / year ~$5.08 Honest value if the chat and 5 clips/month are enough

Older roundups still print $9.99 / $13.99 / $39.99 ladders from earlier SKUs. Rebrand notes from 2025–2026 (“JOI Spicy”) mean you should ignore undated tables. Live checkout is the authority. What we will stand behind as a desk range: a light user who stays inside Premium’s included images and Dream Clips pays the annual ~$5. A moderate user who buys a Neuron pack or two lands ~$5–$18 effective. A voice-call hobbyist leaves that band immediately. That is the comparison number on the hub table, not the $2.40 coupon some affiliates still advertise.

Neurons, and why Dream Clips are the product

Neurons are the second currency. Chat on Premium is the cover charge. Media past the included pile is the till. Independent 2026 testers (and Joi’s own help topics around images/video) keep repeating a ladder like this. Treat it as a dated snapshot, not a coupon:

Action Neurons commonly quoted What that means in money
Premium included stills 50 / month on Premium (often) Covered by the sub if you stay inside it
Extra image ~25–50 (sometimes billed as a pair at ~50) Tens of cents to a bit over a dollar at pack rates
Dream Clip, ~5 seconds ~200; Premium often includes 5 / month The feature people actually open Joi for
Clip extension, +5 seconds ~100 Adds up faster than the first clip
Live voice / video call ~2,000 per 5 minutes On the order of a $12–$36 pack for five minutes. A special occasion, not a nightly habit.
Extra custom character ~1,000 (first often free on Premium) Do not collect companions like Pokémon on this meter

Pack rungs commonly listed: 500 Neurons / $11.99, 1,000 / $23.99, then 2,500 / $59.99, 5,000 / $99.99, 10,000 / $119.99. Other testers saw $12.69 / 500. Again: checkout. The shape is what matters. Images are the cheap extra. Dream Clips are the reason the app exists and the reason the 5-included cap is the real product boundary. Calls are priced to be rare. If a review tells you Joi is “unlimited video chat,” they are describing a different SKU or lying.

Dream Clips themselves: you prompt a short scene from chat or a profile, wait on the order of a minute, get ~5 seconds of generated motion. Quality in 2026 is the category standard: usable on a still-ish pose, shakier on walking, identity lock better than 2024, not a film. Some summer 2026 notes said the “Dream Clips” label flickered on the marketing site. The pipeline (short generated video, Neuron-gated, a handful included on Premium) is the thing to verify in-app before you prepay a year because of the name.

Who should pay

  1. You want short clips of a fictional adult character on a phone browser, not a 30-second Xotic V2 or a live LuckyCrush minute.
  2. You will live inside 50 stills and 5 clips most months. If that sentence already feels tight, look at Lovescape chips or Xotic’s printed XOT card before you renew.
  3. You can tolerate a dual-domain SFW/NSFW split and a help center that is a real Zendesk, not a Telegram admin.

Skip Joi if you came for Talkie, if you need E2EE, if you think “no filter” means no policy, or if live calls are the main event. 2,000 Neurons per five minutes is not a roundup error. It is the point of the second currency.

NSFW on paid, still a policy

Adult roleplay and media sit on joi.com for paying users. Free is a sample with restricted spicy. Joi still shows safety warnings; help-center copy exists for a reason. Blocked classes remain. Fictional adults only. Creator/agency tools (digital duplicates of real people) are a different surface with their own consent problems. This review is the companion chat + Dream Clips product, not a how-to for cloning a stranger. Do not upload someone who did not agree.

Vs Candy and the rest

Candy is cheaper annual chat ($47.88) with a 10-second clip at 20 tokens; better if you talk more than you watch. Joi is the clip-first phone toy; annual ~$5 is cheaper than Candy monthly, then Neurons catch up. Xotic prints a clearer video menu and will empty you faster on V3/V4. Lovescape’s 9-chip still / 90–180-chip video is the other clip stack, with a Cyprus company on the terms. FantasyGF is Candy-like tokens plus crypto and kiss/hug templates. LuckyCrush is a live person. Joi scores 7.4 because the included 5 clips + 50 stills make the annual plan a coherent product, and because the call pricing is printed in enough independent ledgers that nobody should be surprised. It does not score 8 because Neuron packs are a second checkout, LLM context windows in third-party tests are short, and the Talkie name-collision wastes everyone’s time.

Verdict

Buy one month if the first Dream Clip looks like something you will actually open again. Convert to annual only after you count remaining clips on day 25. Do not buy a 10,000-Neuron pack to “try voice.” Official product: joi.com. This page is a review.

Score: 7.4 / 10. Dated 1 September 2026. Checkout wins tomorrow.
